Rebecca is a homeschooling mom of 6, living in Beulaville, building a wanna-be homestead with her husband Steven.
Through her own seven pregnancies, she found herself growing very passionate about childbirth. She began working on her certification as a doula during the pregnancy of her 6th child and dived into birthwork, plugging herself into the birth professional community of Eastern NC. She volunteered free childbirth education to Duplin County starting in 2022.
Since then, she has envisioned opening a Pregnancy & Postpartum Resource Center for Duplin County, a place where moms can receive free education & support. Once Medicaid began covering Doula Support in 2023, she worked fast to become a contracted provider.
Rebecca hopes that through The Duplin Doulas she can be a part of something big in changing birth & postpartum outcomes for women here in Eastern NC!

Elizabeth was born and raised in Duplin County. After the completion of both her undergraduate and graduate degrees, she wanted to give back to her community. Her passion for doula work emerged while collaborating with doulas, midwives, insurance representatives, health department staff, and doctors in Durham through "Born in Durham, Healthy for Life." Together, they aimed to improve the health outcomes for mothers and infants in the community by bridging the communication gap between community members and institutions like hospitals and insurance providers. Elizabeth hopes to apply the knowledge gained from this experience to support Duplin County, with a particular focus on Spanish-speaking pregnant mothers.
